Jishan joined Prof. Menachem Elimelech’s group as a postdoctoral associate in January 2025. His research focuses on advancing polymeric composite membranes for resource recovery and waste valorization.

Prior to joining Rice University, Jishan earned his Ph.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) under the mentorship of Prof. Eric Hoek. He also completed a year-long postdoctoral appointment at UCLA, where his research centered on ultra-high-pressure reverse osmosis for sustainable desalination, computational modeling of membrane processes and membrane behaviors.

Beyond his academic pursuits, Jishan is a 10-handicap golfer who also plays tennis and basketball regularly. He does both snowboarding and skiing during the snow season. His favorite mountains are Mammoth, Snowbird, Copper, and Vail.
