Jacob Goodman

Curriculum vitae Google scholar
Jake is a first year Ph.D. student in Environmental Engineering. His research interests include transport mechanisms and interfacial chemistry of novel membranes. He hopes to apply this research to enhance the efficiencies of precious metal resource recovery and desalination processes.
Jake obtained a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2021. After graduating, he stayed at UT Austin to pursue an M.S. in Environmental Engineering with a thesis focused on water chemistry. He worked in Dr. Lynn Katz’s lab studying monochloramine decomposition kinetics followed by lead dissolution experiments with prechlorinated NOM complexation. He then moved to Houston to work as a water/wastewater process engineer, assisting municipalities in designing large-scale drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Outside of research, Jake enjoys playing online games with friends and spending time with his loved ones. He loves to travel the world and hopes to one day visit every continent.
