Meny Receives Sidney Loeb Award from European Desalination Society

April 29, 2025

Meny received the Sidney Loeb Award from the European Desalination Society (EDS) at the annual conference in Porto, Portugal. The award is named after Dr. Sidney Loeb, who along with Dr. Srinivasa Sourirajan developed the first practical reverse osmosis membrane in the late 1950s and early 1960s, transforming water desalination technology. Meny delivered a keynote address at the “Berkeley Water Day: Addressing Water Challenges of a Changing Climate” symposium at the University of California, Berkeley, alongside Professor Kongjian Yu from Peking University.
